QUESTiONS/PROBLEMS/NOTES:

Helpful Hints:
Infants cry for different reasons; because they're hungry, wet, because they
need consoling or simply to release tension. In time you will learn to distinguish
when your baby is hungry, when he needs cuddling or when he'll stop if left
alone. Crying may increase in the first 6 to 8 weeks. It is not uncommon for
infants to have a fussy period each day, often between 4pm and 8pm.

Safety Tips: Please read the following sections in this booklet.
            Section Vlll-A. Automobile Safety
Section Vlll-E. Strangulation, Choking, and Smothering Prevention

               Section Vlll-F. Falls
               Section Vlll-H. Burn Prevention

            Section Vlll-I. Fire Safety
Shaken Baby Syndrome - NEVER EVER SHAKE YOUR BABY! When a baby is
shaken rapidly back and forth, severe brain damage can occur, often causing
death. Make sure to review this with anyone who may be left alone with your
baby. Read Section l-F Crying and the Section on Postpartum Depression.

Your next appointment for a physical is when your baby is 2 months old.
